At Milestone Church, we have committed to live life together in a Scriptural and holistic way that is summed up in our Core Values. These Values have served us through difficult and dark times as a light derived from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. We see ourselves as a part of all creation who are taking part in the continual conversation between God and people. We believe the Bible to be the voices of many who have come before us, inspired by God to pass along their poems, stories, accounts, and letters of response and relationship with each other and the living God. We purpose to be a part of this ongoing story.
We see faith as a continual journey where change is ongoing, innovation is expected, and fullness of life is a reality. Because of this, we as individuals and as the church must continually ask the question, “What does it look like for us to be a follower of Christ here and now?”
We believe that God restores every part of us through Jesus. We value the journey because all of life is spiritual life and our fears, failures, and broken hearts will be made whole as we present ourselves to God as fully integrated people — mind, body, soul, emotions and experiences.
We recognize that we desperately need each other and were created to have real and genuine relationships. Through these relationships, we desire to live life together by carrying each other’s burdens, sharing our possessions, praying for and confessing sins to one another, suffering and celebrating together. Every person is valued and significant and has something unique to contribute to this community. It’s in these authentic relationships and loving communities that God transforms us, because the way of Jesus cannot be lived alone.
We believe the local church is the hope of the world and is designed to be a compelling force for good. God uses people as agents of change, to relieve suffering and fight injustice, living out the transforming message of the resurrected Jesus. At Milestone, we believe that the church is at its best when it serves, sacrifices, and loves, caring about the things God cares about. We were created to live for something larger than ourselves.
We believe that the world God created is good, that He creates people in His image, and that no amount of darkness can erase that divine imprint. Because we believe that all of life is sacred, we look for God’s fingerprints everywhere. We celebrate the divine in the daily, pursuing lives of hope, gratitude, and worship. God invites everyone everywhere into this way of life, and we believe it is the best possible way to live.
